  • RE-OPEN TEXAS: We're collecting input from our members on the reopening process. Look for a survey this afternoon so we can gather the opinion of the business community to report back to the Governor's Reopening Taskforce.

  • SENATE APPROVED $484 BILLION IN ADDITIONAL COVID RESPONSE FUNDING: Senate leaders Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer and others speak on CSPAN after reaching agreement on an interim emergency relief bill, which includes $320 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program, $75 billion for hospitals, and $25 billion for testing. The Senate has approved the $484 billion in additional COVID response funding. This plan still needs approval in the U.S. House where a vote is expected on Thursday.

  • CMS ISSUES RECOMMENDATIONS TO RE-OPEN HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS IN AREAS WITH LOW INCIDENCE OF COVID-19: CMS is issuing guidance on providing essential non-COVID-19 care to patients without symptoms of COVID-19 in regions with low and stable incidence of COVID-19. This is part of Phase 1 in the Trump Administration’s Guidelines for Opening Up America Again.   • DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE UPDATE TO TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: The DOD Secretary approved an extension to the stop move order through June 30. The guidance can be found here and helpful information can be found here. An infographic on the updates can be found here.

  • GOVERNOR ABBOTT AND ATTORNEY GENERAL PAXTON PROVIDE UPDATED JOINT GUIDANCE TO HOUSES OF WORSHIP: Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton today issued updated joint guidance regarding the effect of Governor Abbott's Executive Order GA-16 on religious services conducted by congregations and houses of worship. It recommends strategies for houses of worship to effectively slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) while serving their respective communities of faith. Read the guidance document here.
